Agency - Feed

Listening to music at work is nothing new and many agencies, studios and offices have their way of doing things; however, from my experience, there wasn't anything that kept everyone happy. This is where Work Place Radio comes in initially devised by a colleague I used to work with that allowed people who have access the ability to add and upvote songs to a public playlist. The question I posed to myself was how can I make this better and build on a product that had become so popular at work.

With an abundance to primary users around me, I didn't have to look far to get some valuable insight into what people liked about the existing product as well as what they would like to see changed and improved. The consensus from everyone was they loved the ability for the studio to vote on what they listened to.

"Everyone has access, so you hear different tunes, I get bored with my own music sometimes. It's nice when a theme takes hold and promotes conversation."

Core User Improvements

Core User Improvements

Music is social

Music is often a talking point and foundation of so many friendships. For this reason, I wanted to add a social element to the app that would encourage conversation amongst colleagues instead of the awkward small talk while you're making coffee in the kitchen.

Repeats

How to avoid the same song coming on twice in one day (there is only so much Gotta Keep On by The Chemical Brothers some people can take).

Radio Silence

How to avoid the radio falling silent, so when there is no music added to the queue, there is always music ready to be played.
